Open mics and performance spots?

-I live in Houston, I'm a singer/dancer...anyway I can't for the life of me find open mics or places to perform in this damn city! I'm doing all kinds of internet research, emailing everybody and they either don't respond or they don't do open mics anymore. Anybody in Houston or that knows Houston entertainment venues please help me...!!!You should do what I did

I as well couldnt find any way to perform in public with my band because most of the time we were missing one member for one reason or another.

I got so fed up with it that I quit playing out w/ people entirely and started up my own personal low budget studio in wich I am now able to play all the instruments and sing or just sample and mix.

As far as the public goes,I am more than happy to video my studio performances and put them on you tube.

Open Mic venues are hard to find any where

The blues bars do some of the more capable open mic nights if you can find a good one
