I have to answer, but don't wanna talk 2 the caller. How do I fake that my cell is messing up/out of range?

-Once you answer, start saying "hello, hello?" Act like their phone is going in and out. Then continually press the Mute button on your phone. Once you do this, the caller will hear gaps in the conversation and believe that the reception is going in and out.

Nine out of ten, THEY will hang up on you in frustration of their phone. And you won't even have to feel guilty.
