I'm going clubbing for the first time when I'm 18...?

-Basically, I'm gonna be 18, and I'm the oldest of like all my friends so I'm going with people from work of varying ages, because all my friends will still be 17! :)



Basically, I've only ever been drunk a small number of times and i've obviously never been clubbing!



Just wanted some tips... what to expect? tips on drinking? etc?

p.s. I'm a girl :PI have no idea what kind of club you are going to but in general it's just like being in

a big bar with a dancefloor. When i think of clubbing I think of house music and drugs. That's the way it is here anyway. If you are just going to a regular club it will just be full of people having fun, men trying to hit on you and long toilet queues. Don't leave your drink unattended or accept drinks from people you don't know that you haven't seen poured yourself. Try to have a soft drink in between each alcoholic one if you aren't used to drinking as you don't want to get wasted. Have fun!
Clubbing is NOT about getting drunk. A drink or two is cool but they are expensive and the dance floor is by far the best place to be. Get your moves on... dance is a great communicator there's no "hello" you can just bop away and groove with people and have a laugh.



Clubs are not the best place for conversation because they are so loud... clubs are for dancing... so hit the floor with your best booty and enjoy the night!
Pro-tip: You'll get carded and thrown out before you get a sip. Have fun with your stern talking-to by a bouncer.



Edit: Whoops, didn't see the union jack on the underside of the question. Carry on. My tips on drinking is to take it slow. Alcohol doesn't instantly enter your system, so it can be dangerous if you're drinking indiscriminately and you don't know your limits.



I'd space your first drinks into fifteen minute intervals. Try some cocktails instead of going for straight liquor. It will help you space out your drinks better.
depends what club your going to.

If its a small local town night club then youll be fine, the bouncers dont look at your ID's properly, it will be pretty wild for a newbie but nothing extreme.

If you are going to a big club like gatecrasher or custard factory then youll get ID'd and searched before you even get in, most people will be off their tree and its usually wild!



Just use your head and keep safe
Don't drink loads. Experience your surroundings and enjoy the moment. Don't ruin it by being really drunk and remembering nothing. Dance.
